Video Description:

Kyrgyzstan (Ker-Gyz-Stan), a place I can easily call my second home, is a country people often referred to as "One of the Stans". If you ask around, not a whole lot of people will know where Kyrgyzstan is on a map, let alone traveled there, and that is why I made this travel video.

To show you the country Kyrgyzstan, how beautiful the country is, and why you should put Kyrgyzstan and the rest of Central Asia on your list of must-visit destinations.

With alpine mountains and pristine lakes all over the country, where ever you trek you are sure to be spending a night in the middle of beautiful untouched nature under millions of stars.

Other than nature, Bishkek is one of the few cities in the world I feel like I can stay for a long period of time. The locals were phenomenal, the city is small enough that you can go almost everywhere by walking, and not too crowded but enough to keep the creativity flowing. Bishkek is truly a home far away from home in Central Asia for me.

For this video, I decided to go for a fast-paced edit filled with energy and colors that reflects what traveling in Kyrgyzstan was like for me, how much I feel so alive.

And when I paired that with a poem by Anne Sexton's voice from her "The Truth The Dead Know" poetry, I think I've got something special here. "Live Now" is a title I chose for this video to reflect the concept of the poem, of how, on your deathbed, you will look back at your time in Kyrgyzstan fondly and not regret taking the leap and visit such an unknown country.

I hope the video will inspire you to give Central Asia a try, to put your attention to this small yet amazing country, ignite the adventurous fire within you, to put Kyrgyzstan within your radar, and finally to inspire you to LIVE NOW. Enjoy!

Narration came from an original version of a poem by Anne Sexton, "The Truth The Dead Know":

"And what would the dead say?
What defiles their calm eyes and their loose brows?
Not this. For through their tiny smiles they mutter:
live now, live now."

Wondering what camera I am currently using? Here are all the camera gear I usually take with me when I am traveling:

Camera: Sony a7R V, the highest resolution full-frame camera out there, is my go-to camera when I travel. All of my recent photos and videos are all from this beast.
All-Around Travel Lens: Sony 24-70mm f2.8 GM II lens is the lens I mounted on my camera the most. The lens covers most of the ranges I need for travel from wide to telephoto. If I have to take only one lens with me on my travel, it would be this lens.
Ultra-Wide Lens: Sony 16-35mm F2.8 GM II Lnes: An ultra-wide lens I often use to shoot expansive landscapes and capture massive architecture I stumble upon while traveling.
Telephoto Lens: Sony 70-200mm F2.8 GM II lens is one of the most versatile lenses to have. It is great for picking out details in landscapes and capturing wildlife when combined with the Sony FE 2x teleconverter.
Portrait Lens: Sigma 85mm F1.4 DG DN Lens is the most compact and lightweight 85mm F1.4 lens out there. It's sharp and produces stunning bokeh for subject separation, perfect for portraits and street photography.
Drone: DJI Mavic Mini 2, a perfect drone for those who travel light. It weighs less than 250g and smaller than an iPhone when folded and can capture 4K video as well as 12 megapixels RAW photos. More than enough for its size.
Bag: Langly Alpha Globetrotter is a camera bag I use to carry all these lenses as well as other essentials when I'm traveling.
