Video Description:

Chile is one hell of a charming and colorful country to travel in, from the adorable culture of Easter Island to the alien landscape of Atacama, and to the pristine lakes and mountains of Patagonia. Charming Chile will take you to all of these places and more! Be sure to watch to the end and beyond for some fun extra videos. ;)

Easter Island! After 4 years of wanting to visit the island, I finally made it, and wow, was it well worth the effort! As I traveled down from the Atacama desert through Santiago to Patagonia, I witnessed the wonderful port city of Valparaiso, hiked up to witness lava spewing from Villarrica Volcano in Pucon, walked the famous Torres del Paine trail in Patagonia, and ended my Chile trip at Easter Island, celebrating with the locals at one of the best festivals in the world, the Tapati Festival.

Easter Island was definitely the highlight of the trip and the best way to end my 6-month long journey in South America. I rented a quad bike and drove around the island for 5 days, enjoying the clear sky, lying on my bike under the clearest Milky Way I've ever seen, watching the sunrise behind the Ahu Tongariki Moai head statues, and witnessing the Rapa Nui people celebrate the greatest festival of all, the Tapati Festival, dancing their hearts out. All of that is compressed into this 7-minute video!

7 minutes may seem long for a travel video, you ask? Don't worry, the travel video itself is around 3 minutes as usual, but be sure to watch all the way to the end and beyond for some extra content. ;) As some of you may know, I like to leave extra footage at the end of my travel videos for those who watch until the end, and "Charming Chile" is the only video where this extra footage is almost as long as the travel video itself, as I have a ton of unused clips from the Tapati Festival that I want to share with you.

I hope you enjoy this video as much as I did traveling through the country!

Wondering what camera I am currently using? Here are all the camera gear I usually take with me when I am traveling:

Camera: Sony a7R V, the highest resolution full-frame camera out there, is my go-to camera when I travel. All of my recent photos and videos are all from this beast.
All-Around Travel Lens: Sony 24-70mm f2.8 GM II lens is the lens I mounted on my camera the most. The lens covers most of the ranges I need for travel from wide to telephoto. If I have to take only one lens with me on my travel, it would be this lens.
Ultra-Wide Lens: Sony 16-35mm F2.8 GM II Lnes: An ultra-wide lens I often use to shoot expansive landscapes and capture massive architecture I stumble upon while traveling.
Telephoto Lens: Sony 70-200mm F2.8 GM II lens is one of the most versatile lenses to have. It is great for picking out details in landscapes and capturing wildlife when combined with the Sony FE 2x teleconverter.
Portrait Lens: Sigma 85mm F1.4 DG DN Lens is the most compact and lightweight 85mm F1.4 lens out there. It's sharp and produces stunning bokeh for subject separation, perfect for portraits and street photography.
Drone: DJI Mavic Mini 2, a perfect drone for those who travel light. It weighs less than 250g and smaller than an iPhone when folded and can capture 4K video as well as 12 megapixels RAW photos. More than enough for its size.
Bag: Langly Alpha Globetrotter is a camera bag I use to carry all these lenses as well as other essentials when I'm traveling.
