So, your parents bought you a new car? They got you into one of the prestigious colleges in town? Well, the reality is, those aren't your achievements; they're your parents'.
The truth is, what truly captures people's attention isn't the destination but the journey, the inspiring stories and hardships that lead to the destination. We look for something meaningful to believe in, to connect with, and to be inspired by, and tales of unearned privilege aren't it.
Imagine a person who started with nothing and failed miserably several times. But each time they fell, they got back up and tried again until they succeeded. These are the stories that resonate with us. Most of us aren't born into wealth, and hearing such stories gives us hope, instills in us the power to persist and persevere. These are the stories people truly care about.
A destination without a journey isn't really a destination; it's just you standing still, boasting about someone else's achievements. When you're pursuing your dreams, embrace the journey, not the destination. Only then will you have a story that's worthwhile, a story that spreads on its own, a story that people genuinely care about.
