Video Description:

I have to admit, I didn't know much about Ecuador when I was traveling in South America for 6 months, except for the Galapagos islands. When I first arrived in Quito, my initial plan was to spend around 2 weeks in Ecuador before moving on to Peru. However, one thing led to another, and I ended up staying a month in Ecuador alone, exploring all the beautiful places in the country!

You see, I did not realize then that there are so many things to do in this country. Did you know that there are more bird species in Ecuador than in North America and Europe combined!? Did you know that Ecuador has one of the most concentrated numbers of volcanoes in one area!? Did you know that you can go off and hike 3 - 4 volcanoes right from Quito, the capital city of Ecuador, and come back and sleep in the city? Me neither!

After spending a month here, I can finally say that I think I've seen more wildlife here in Ecuador than in my entire life combined. From all the birds in Mindo to the unforgiving Amazon forest to the famous Galapagos islands, there is no shortage of wildlife sightings here in Ecuador.

I also hiked up a bunch of volcanoes around Ecuador (Pichincha, Quilotoa, and Cotopaxi) for a week before heading up north to Mindo, tubing down a rapid, swimming in the waterfall, and eventually traveling east to the Amazon forest, where I spent a good 4 days.

And of course, you can't come to Ecuador and not visit the famous Galapagos island, one of the most beautiful parts of the world. I went on a cruise around the Galapagos islands, swam with sea lions, sharks, and sea turtles, and experienced the iguanas, penguins, and the rare blue-footed boobies, all in a span of 7 days.

It was one of the most spectacular moments of my life being among these animals on one of the most remote islands in the world, and for such an amazing experience, I gotta create a travel video that will do this place justice, and that is what I aspire to capture in this video.

Ecuador Crossing is my personal documented journey across the equator line in Ecuador while visiting places like the Amazon, the Galapagos, and more along the way. This video remains one of my favorites out of all 60 travel videos I have made, so I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Wondering what camera I am currently using? Here are all the camera gear I usually take with me when I am traveling:

Camera: Sony a7R V, the highest resolution full-frame camera out there, is my go-to camera when I travel. All of my recent photos and videos are all from this beast.
All-Around Travel Lens: Sony 24-70mm f2.8 GM II lens is the lens I mounted on my camera the most. The lens covers most of the ranges I need for travel from wide to telephoto. If I have to take only one lens with me on my travel, it would be this lens.
Ultra-Wide Lens: Sony 16-35mm F2.8 GM II Lnes: An ultra-wide lens I often use to shoot expansive landscapes and capture massive architecture I stumble upon while traveling.
Telephoto Lens: Sony 70-200mm F2.8 GM II lens is one of the most versatile lenses to have. It is great for picking out details in landscapes and capturing wildlife when combined with the Sony FE 2x teleconverter.
Portrait Lens: Sigma 85mm F1.4 DG DN Lens is the most compact and lightweight 85mm F1.4 lens out there. It's sharp and produces stunning bokeh for subject separation, perfect for portraits and street photography.
Drone: DJI Mavic Mini 2, a perfect drone for those who travel light. It weighs less than 250g and smaller than an iPhone when folded and can capture 4K video as well as 12 megapixels RAW photos. More than enough for its size.
Bag: Langly Alpha Globetrotter is a camera bag I use to carry all these lenses as well as other essentials when I'm traveling.
