Tawllirahu is definitely stunning but climbing that will require more mountaineering experience which I didn't have so Nevado Mateo is pretty much what I need :) Either way, Huaraz was one of those places I didn't know about it before arriving in Peru and complete blown away by it :)
This hike is definitely not for the faint of heart. But I was really stunned by the budget per day that you placed here. It's very cheap if you ask me. The Huayhuash trail is my favorite here, love those aqua blue waters!

Very cheap, that is why I love Huaraz so much. It felt like a little Nepal of South America up there haha. I spent 2 weeks just hiking and trekking around the surrounding mountain range. I definitely have to come back and do Huayhuash fully as I didn't have the time to do so! :)
